Environmental Plan Design

Design and layout of the City of Hillsboro’s first Environmental Sustainability Plan — a cutting-edge initiative identified as a top community priority during the ten-year update of the Hillsboro 2020 Vision and Action Plan.

The Hillsboro Environmental Sustainability Plan represents a major milestone in Hillsboro’s history, setting measurable, achievable long-term environmental goals and indicators in the areas of energy, resource conservation, and waste management. The publication weaves together full-page photos, technical illustrations and data tables.

Hillsboro received recognition for the plan from the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ 2016 Climate Protection Awards.

As the city’s sustainability initiative was launched, Mad Bird Design helped successfully brand the program and raise its visibility — creating high-quality, effective tools to educate employees and constituents. On-call design projects include producing an animated video for the nationwide Bloomberg Philanthropies Mayors Challenge, graphics and illustrations, decals for the City’s fleet of electric vehicles, posters, display boards, brochures, reports, and custom promotional items.

“Michele has helped us successfully brand our new sustainability program and to provide high quality, effective tools to educate employees and constituents. I strongly recommend Michele for any creative/design work, and can guarantee that in a very short time you will look at her work product and say ‘It’s a Neary!'”
