ABOUT MAD BIRD DESIGN

Mad Bird Design principals Michele and Patrick Neary have collaborated for 15 years as a creative team. Combining our skill set is efficient and productive – our clients benefit from professional in-house custom graphics, photography, video production and document design capabilities. So it made a lot of sense to begin the new decade in 2010 by joining forces under one company name, and Mad Bird Design was born. The name and logo was inspired by not a few lattes and one of Patrick's obsessions – woodblock printing. Selections of his work appear on the Woodcut Designs page. (For the record, we picked our name before knowing anything about the current Angry Birds craze – but will confess to playing the game!)

MAD BIRD DESIGN PARTNERS

Michele Neary, Principal/Owner of Mad Bird Design, is a communications professional accomplished in both print and online publishing. Combining an editor’s attention to detail with an aptitude for creating elegant and visually appealing designs, Michele has developed an array of high-quality printed materials for business, public sector and nonprofit clients: reports, newsletters, posters, displays, multi-media presentations, brochures, flyers, calendars, postcards, logos/branding materials, graphic illustrations and business cards. She has also designed and launched dozens of websites, e-newsletters, and online surveys to brand and publicize businesses, projects, initiatives and activities, connect with target audiences, provide up-to-date information, tap into social networks, and gather feedback.

As an on-call graphic designer with the City of Hillsboro, Michele has collaborated on a number of creative assignments, including design and layout of the Hillsboro 2020 Vision and Action Plan book; website and report design for the citywide Sustainability program; branding and graphic design for the City's Strategic Plan, Mission Statement and Core Values; creating three fun door prizes for the July Celebrate Hillsboro community festival; and brochure design for the dedication of the new Cherry Lane Fire Station. Michele coordinated the 10th Annual Hillsboro 2020 Vision Town Hall in May 2010, producing an array of promotional and event materials, tradeshow displays, television advertising, slide shows, and a PowerPoint presentation with interactive audience polling. Michele has also assisted a number of businesses to prepare polished and professional marketing materials and deliverables; including websites, proposals, reports, and PowerPoint presentations.

Green Power DisplayProject highlights include:

  • Print design for the 70-page Hillsboro 2020 Vision and Action Plan book, currently underway.
